The consumer electronics segment (entertainment electronics, private IT products, and private telecommunications) fell by 1.5% to 27.7 billion Euro. The private IT product segment grew, with an increase of 4.1% to 6.8 billion Euro in 2019. In entertainment electronics, a decline of 5.6% to 6.8 billion Euro was recorded. The private telecommunications segment fell by 1.4% to just under 12.1 billion Euro.

Domestic appliances saw an increase in sales to 14.9 billion euro, up 4.7%. Following the once-off poor performance of the previous year, the large domestic appliance product segment grew by 3.2% to 9 billion Euro in 2019, continuing its decade-plus success story. Sales of small domestic appliances were up 7.1% to just under 5.9 billion Euro in 2019, extending the segment’s positive streak of over ten years.
